The team announced that their annual preseason training camp will be
moving to Sierra Community College, Rocklin, CA. Rocklin is
located just northeast of Sacramento, CA, and was the previous site
of Bandits training camp before the team moved to Las Vegas.
The move is intended to re-establish the bonds with former Bandits
fans in the Sacramento and Northern California area.
"This
move will help us reaffirm our bond with all the fans who supported
us when the team used to be based here," said GM Patricia Willis.
"The league was all for it, and had actually been on the verge of
suggesting the same thing to the Bandits."
The Bandits
played for 2 seasons in Sacramento before relocating to Las Vegas.
When asked if the Sacramento-area fans might be reluctant to the
idea, Willis said she had already received encouraging messages from
area and former fans.

"Rumors were already circulating as soon as our minicamp started here
in Las Vegas, and I personally fielded several phone calls from
Sacramento-area fans about the Bandits moving training camp to Rocklin.
However, there were also rumors of the team moving back to Sacramento
permanently, but I quickly put the kabosh on that one. The Bandits
are Las Vegas' team, period. We have no intentions of ever leaving
Las Vegas. So I just wanted to get that cleared up right away.
"The move to Rocklin is for training camp in the preseason only, and is
a tribute to all the Northern California fans who supported us in the
past. We hope to re-establish bonds with these fans, and also hope
to recruit even more fans in the near future. We are currently
exploring special package deals with airlines and local hotels for
Northern California fans to attend home games in Las Vegas, and to
travel to our road games in the area, such as San Francisco."
