TEAM KICKS OFF DECEMBER MINICAMP
December 10, 2004

Rookies and veterans got their first tastes of working together as Bandits teammates this past week, as the team kicks off its December minicamp.  Rookies concluded their three-week orientation courses and suited up for the first time on Tuesday.  The week concluded with a full-contact scrimmage.

BANDITS SIGN FORMER XFL OUTLAWS PLAYERS
WEDNESDAY, OCT 27, 2004 - The team wrapped up the Free Agency signing period by bringing in several former Las Vegas Outlaws players of the defunct XFL.  Players such as Rod "He Hate Me" Smart, Rickey "Snickers" Brady, Joe Tuipala, Brett Bech, and Angel Rubio will be returning to Las Vegas, but this time as Bandits.

Smart and Tuipala were signed after being released by San Francisco, along with former Stallions Defensive End Lemanzer Williams.  Journeyman Defensive Tackle Angel Rubio was all too happy to sign with the team at the eleventh-hour of Free Agency.  Veteran Bech was brought in to bolster the Bandits' receiving corps.

SAN DIEGO DIABLOS SIGN RB RICKY WILLIAMS
SUNDAY, OCT 9, 2004 - The Diablos signed former NFL Running Back Ricky Williams to a lucrative multi-year contract.  The fate of his NFL signing bonus is unclear, but so far the League Commissioner states that the NFL bonus is a private matter between the NFL and Williams, and is of no consequence to his SFL contract.  The impact on the Pacific Division was immediate, however, as the Bandits altered their Free Agency signings to counter the new threat posed by Williams.

BANDITS LOSE TERRITORIAL DRAFT SCHOOL ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY
MONDAY, OCT 4, 2004 - The SFL changed the Territorial Draft School selections for the Bandits to include only BYU and UNLV, dropping Arizona State University.  The league anticipates an SFL team to return to the Phoenix, AZ, area by 2007, and ASU will default back to this new team.  The new franchise is expected to once again be named the Scorpions.

OFFENSIVE TACKLE CHRIS PEREZ ANNOUNCES HIS RETIREMENT
SUNDAY, OCT 3, 2004 - Offensive Tackle Chris Perez, a long-time Bandits player, announced today that he is retiring from football.  OT Matt Light will take his place in the starting lineup, according to Head Coach Chan Gailey.

FRIDAY, OCT 1, 2004 - The team recently wrapped up the 2005 SFL College Draft, selecting RB Mewelde Moore and CB Chris Thomas in the first round.

BANDITS WIN FIRST-EVER PLAYOFF GAME
SUNDAY, JULY 11, 2004 - The team defeated the Houston Wranglers 20-3 in front of a raucous sellout crowd of 42,056.  The Dealers of Doom shut down the Wranglers' high-flying offense, and the Bandits offense rolled over the Houston defense with 40 rushes for 169 yards.

FRIDAY, APRIL 2, 2004 - The Las Vegas Bandits have signed journeyman NFL QB Scott Covington to a 3-year contract, the team announced on Friday.  In order to make room on the roster for Covington, backup QB Danny Kanell was released.
