The Bandits announced today that Brad Randel has resigned, and has
been replaced shortly after. Longtime sports analyst and personnel
director Patricia Willis was introduced by Randel as the new General
Manager and Director of Operations.

The Bandits concluded the 2005 season with another disappointing
loss, 38-25 to the Seattle Orcas. The Bandits missed the
postseason for the first time in 3 seasons, leaving fans and players
alike disappointed.

The team won their first game of the season in a 38-34 barnburner,
wearing their Commemorative Silver Mining Heritage uniforms in front of
a raucous sold-out Sam Boyd Stadium crowd. QB Scott Covington, in
his first start of the season, led the Bandits to win the game with a
54-yard TD pass to WR Ron Johnson as time expired.

After a disappointing 0-3 start, QB Ricky Ray has been traded to the
Orlando Rockets. The Bandits received Orlando's first-round pick
in the Fall Supplemental Draft in return, along with a 3-way trade
involving receiving second-year OT Carlos Joseph and sending OL Joe Wong
to the Hartford Centurions. The Bandits then traded an 8th-round
draft pick in the 2006 Common Draft to San Francisco in return for QB
Bart Hendricks.

The Bandits have benched QB Ricky "Frito" Ray after a horrible
outing in Seattle, where he threw 3 interceptions, was sacked 5 times,
and finished 23-40 for 284 yards and only one touchdown. Head Coach Chan
Gailey named backup QB Scott Covington as the starter for the game this
weekend against division rivals Los Angeles Stars, and did not detail
when Frito Ray might be able to regain his role as starter. [

The Bandits were left shell-shocked after being trounced by Tampa
Bay Barracudas 34-20 in the SFL's inaugural regular-season game Friday
night. The Dealers of Doom gave up 287 yards on the ground, while
QB Ricky Ray passed for only 281 yards.

The team finished the preseason at 2-0, so some of the players
released were tough decisions. Several former XFL Las Vegas
Outlaws players didn't make the final cut, as the team released WR Brett
Bech, TE Rickey Brady, and DT Angel Rubio.
