November 1, 2006
The Bandits announced that the team has selected a third uniform
design, to be used for alternate games and holidays. The new
Alternate/Holiday uniform fills a void, as no alternate/third uniform
was worn in the 2006 season; the new 2006 home uniform was previously the former Nevada Silver
Mining Commemorative Heritage Uniform.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT 13, 2006 - In a breath of fresh air, the Bandits
have finally addressed some long-standing needs that were sorely
exploited by opponents over the past two seasons. The trade of
every-down RB John Avery to Oklahoma after the 2004 season led to the
drafting of Mewelde Moore, a fan favorite and tremendous rusher in his
rookie season, but the Bandits failed to follow up with an adequate
player to back up Moore. RB David Allen is a great all-purpose back,
especially on third downs, but is not an every-down back nor is he an
effective between-the-tackles, wear-down-the-defense kind of guy. The
result: a 25th-ranked rushing offense in 2006. The Bandits believe they
have found the solution in RB Tyronne Gross, who the team selected in
Round 6.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 9, 2006 - 2006 was supposed to be one of
triumph over tragedy; the tragedy symbolized by the death of OG Travis
Claridge, and the triumph a return to the post-season. Instead, the
Bandits continued to lose players to injuries throughout the year. The
Bandits opened the season by besting the newly-relocated St Louis Hawks
38-20, and fans were energized by the victory. However, the excitement
turned to dismay by midseason, with the team losing five straight games.
Even more concerning was the loss of lightning-in-a-bottle return man
Jerome Mathis for the season with a foot injury in Week 7, and losing QB
Scott Covington for multiple games twice during the season.

Houston. Claridge was a promising addition to the Bandits'
offensive line and also joined his brother, Territorial Draft Selection
LB Ryan Claridge (UNLV).
